Leeches on Skin. Its national day, spent it patriotically serving the nation's heart patients.
Was'nt as bad, staff working were jovial people. And it was'nt exactly hectic.
Except that the visitors really got on my nerves today.
Come on, people its an Intensive Care Unit.
Not a general ward, or a theme park.
Countless times, i had to remind them that visiting hours is already over and only 2 visitors are allowed at one time. And minutes after that, i go inside the room to find 6 people standing around my patient, sitting on their beds or on the floor eating, drinking and making alot of noise.
Firstly, the last thing you'd want to do is to sit on the damn hospital floors. You would'nt want to know each and every thing that lives on those floors. I could name a few organisms, but i shan't waste my effort.
Secondly, which part of only 2 visitors allowed do you not understand? Our patients SERIOUSLY need rest and it certainly helps facilitate our nursing care when there are lesser people around. Besides it is'nt as nice telling you to go out each time we have to do something for our patients. And each time they're asleep, they're awoken up by a bunch of adults who simply cannot follow instructions, much akin to children.
Thirdly, no young children below the age of 12. And i see adults carrying infants in, and children running around. This is NOT a playground. And unless you'd like your child to catch an infection that might be bursting freely in the air or on the FLOOR that you and your child sit on, then by all means go ahead.
Its so tiring and irritating having to reinterate over and over again. There needs to be a solution to this. Anyway, besides them, i'm just glad that i went for my run yesterday after suffering from 3 weeks of hamstring and quadricep injury. The haematoma i was whining about is gone! And yesterday's run was good. Shall try to do so again tomorrow. (:
Cheerios!
impulsively and honestly,
yours truly
